Keeping Busy

Well, Murray has been out of town for the week. I had our week full of activities to make the days seem shorter and keep Ella entertained. Unfortunately she got a fever Tuesday and we had to stay home pretty much all week. She was fine, but we did not want to take any chances and get anyone else sick. So, what did we do?

Ella helped make Miller's bottle

Ella and Miller sang to baby

Ella read to Miller

Miller went driving

Miller drooled, ALOT (look closely)

And, Miller sat up on his own (I think this counts)

"Ready, Set, Go"

"Mommy, lets get bathing suit on and go in spinkers."

I hear this quote several times a day, usually as Ella is trying to take her clothes off to put her bathing suit on. We have already had lots of fun in the sprinkler this summer. It is a great way to pass the time. The first time we tried, Ella did not really know what to think. But now she has it down. She stands on the edge of the yard, says "ready, set, go," and then takes off as fast as her little legs can carry her with her head down toward the sprinkler.

Every Day Joys

Here is a perfect picture of what our everyday looks like. Ella and me eating our yogurt after Miller has finished his scrumptous breakfast of sweet potatos or carrots. What a sweet time for us! Some days get long and sometimes I want to pull out my hair, but oh the sweet times around the table! This is often where Ella makes us laugh the most.

The Hokey Pokey

Ella's Great Aunt and Uncle, Aunt Arden and Uncle Danny, sent her this awesome skirt and beautiful princess shoes for her birthday. Not only is the skirt super cute and Ella loves dressing up in it, it also plays The Hokey Pokey! As you can imagine Ella loves it! These pictures capture Ella's spirit perfectly!

Exersaucer!

For those of you who have talked to me about Miller for more than 5 minutes you know that I have a little bit of Mommy guilt about him being in "contraption" all the time. Now that he is a little bigger (well maybe a lot bigger), I do not get as nervous leaving him on the floor. But I cannot go far with him on the floor, between Ella and Sage, there is no telling what can happen to him. And when he looks at me with those big eyes and a huge bottom lip asking "Mommy why did you let this happen to me," I just cannot handle it! Therefore Miller spends most of his either in baby contraptions or in my arms. Until now it was the swing (which he loves so there is very little guilt), the bouncy seat (he is loving less) and the bumbo (he is not crazy about). But now, Miller is big enough for the exersaucer! This was a very big turning point for Ella when she was a baby so we were looking forward to it for Miller. The exersaucer helps with my Mommy guilt because I think it teaches Miller to play by himself and he is safe:)

Miller was not quite sure about the exesaucer at first.

Slowly warming up to it...

Ok, now I am loving it!

Who is that cute baby?

Chicago

Murray and I had a great time in Chicago, however it was not quite the type of trip you would expect when visiting the big city. I spent a lot of time in Wellon and Stephen's apartment sleeping while Murray was gone. It was as if my body shut down the minute we got off the plane. At least I could use the excuse that Miller needed to nap so I did not feel bad about staying in. Overall it was a great week of bonding with Miller for everyone. He was in the spotlight the whole time. Who would have thought I would come back from Chicago so rested.

Miller's Baptism

Should have been posted May 4, 2008:

What a sweet day for our family! Miller Wesley Lee was baptised by his Daddy! It is so comforting as a believer knowing that our children are part of the covenant family and that God is in control of thier life. It is hard to believe that someone can love our little ones more than us, but God does and I know that he will never do anything that is not the very best for them!

Miller's Firsts

Over the past two months Miller has had a lot of firsts! This is one of the reasons I was so upset about losing all my pictures because i had not written anything down, I was just going to rely on my camera for all dates when I downloaded them onto the computer. Thank goodness they were all recovered. Here are a few of his firsts. (the dates are more for me)

Miller started playing with his toys! He loves his zebra. (April 30, 2008)

Miller's first bites. (May 8, 2008) Miller was not to fond of eating rice cereal. He still does not love to eat solid foods, but obviously it is not affecting him too much!

Miller rolled over! (May 10, 2008). He had actually rolled over on his own maybe one or two time before this. I felt like the worst mom taking these pictures while he was screaming, but it was such a big day for him I just wanted to document it.
